އިރުކޮޅަކުން ގެއަށް އައިސްވަނީ، އަހަރެންގެ ފިރި އަހަންމަދެވެ. އަނދެގެން ހުރި މުންޑު ކޮށިކޮށްލާފައި ހުރިއިރު، އޭނާގެ ކޮނޑުމަތީގައި ހުރީ، ގޭގައި ހަނޑޫ އަޅަން ގެންގުޅޭ ފާޓާއެވެ. ތުނބުގައި ޖަހާފައި ހުރި ބިޑިބުރި ދަމާލުމާއެކު، އަތްވަށް އަނދާފައިވާ އޭނާގެ މޫނަށް، އަލިފާނުގެ ރަތް އަލި އެޅިގެންދިޔައެވެ. ބިޑި ވަހުން ގޭތެރެ އެއްވަސްވިއެވެ. އޭނާ އެ އައީ އޮޑިވެރިގެއިންނެވެ. މިރެއަކީ ހުކުރުވިލޭރެއެވެ. ހަފުތާގެ މަސްވެރިކަމުގެ ނަފާއިން މަސްވެރިންގެ ހިތް އުފާކޮށްދޭ ރެއެވެ. އަހަންމަދު، ފާޓާ ގެންގޮސް ބޮޑުއަށީ ފައިލާކޮޅުގައި ބެހެއްޓިއެވެ.
“ބަޔަކަށް ދުއިސައްތަ ރުފިޔާ ޖެހުނު.” އަހަންމަދުގެ އަޑުގައި ހުރި އުފާވެރިކަމާ އެއްވަރަށް އަޑު ވެސް ބާރެވެ.
“މާ ބާރަށް ވާހަކަ ނުދައްކާ!” އުނގުގައި އޮތް ކުޑަ މަންޖެއަށް އިޝާރާތްކޮށްލަމުން އަހަރެން ވައިއަޑުން ބުނީމެވެ. “ހޭލަފާނެ!”
“މީހަކަށް ތިން ކިލޯ ހަނޑޫ ވިއްކީ” އަހަރެން ގާތަށް ހުއްޓެމުން އަހަންމަދު މި ފަހަރު ވާހަކަދެއްކީ މަޑުމަޑުންނެވެ.
“އަނެއްކާ ވެސް ރަށުން ކާޑު ހުސްވަނީ؟ ތީ ޙައްލުވާން އޮތް ކަމެއް ވެސް ނޫންދޯ!”
“އާނ! ކީއްކުރާނީ” އަހަންމަދު ދޫކޮށްލީ ފުން ނޭވާއެކެވެ. “ދަރިފުޅު ތި އޮތީ ނިދާފައެއްނު.” ކުޑަމަންޖެގެ މޫނަށް ބަލައިލަމުން އަހަންމަދު ބިޑިބުރި ދަމައިލިއެވެ. “ގެނޭ މަގޭއަތަށް ބާއްވަން” ބިޑިބުރި ފައިދަށަށް ވައްޓާލަމުން، އަހަންމަދު ގުދުވެ، ކުޑަމަންޖެ ނަގައިގެން ގެންގޮސް، އުތުރު އެނދުގެ އެއްކޮޅުގައި އޮތް ކަންނެޔޮމަތީގައި ބޭއްވިއެވެ.
“ކައިގެން ތި އައީ؟”
“އާނ. އޮޑިވެރިގޭން ތިކަން ނިންމާލައިފިން. ނަމާދުކޮށްފިންތަ؟” އާދައިގެ މަތީން އަހަންމަދު ކުރާ ސުވާލު ކޮށްލިއެވެ.
“އަދި ނުކުރަން. އެ މަންޖެ މިރޭ މާ ވަރަކަށް…”
“ތީ އެއްވެސް ވާހަކައެއް ނޫން ހަރީރާ! ނަމާދު ފަސްކުރަންޖެހޭ ޢުޒުރަކަށް ދަރީން ނުހަދާ!” އަހަންމަދު ވާހަކަދެއްކީ ނަސޭހަތުގެ ރާގުގައެވެ. އަހަރެން އެއްޗެއް ނުބުނަމެވެ.
“އަތިރިއަކަށް ދާން ޖެހިގެން މި އުޅެނީ. ހިނގާބަލަ!”
ވަރަށް ނިދިއަންނަ ރެއެކެވެ. އެހެންނަމަވެސް، ނޫނެކޭ ނުބުނެވޭނެއެވެ. އަހަންމަދުވިއްޔާއެވެ. ގެއިން ނިކުތުމަށްޓަކައި އަހަރެން އަހަންމަދުގެ ފަހަތުން ހިނގައިގަތީމެވެ. ގެއިން ނިކުމެ ދޮރުމަތީގައި ފުޅަލިގަނޑު ލައްކޮށްލީމެވެ.
ރެއަކީ ހަނދުމަހުން 25 ވިލޭރެއެވެ. ރަށުތެރެއަށް ވެރިވެފައިވަނީ އަނދިރިކަމާއި ފަޅުކަމެވެ. އުޑުމަތީގައި ހުރި ތަރިތައް އެ އަނދިރިކަމާއި ފަޅުކަމުގެ ތެރޭގައި، ބިރުން ރޫރޫއަޅައަޅައި ތިބި ކަހަލައެވެ. އަހަރެމެން ހިނގައިގަތީ ބޮޑުމަގުން އުތުރަށެވެ. ދެތިން ހަތަރު ފިޔަވަޅެއް އެޅުމަށްފަހު، އަހަންމަދު އަނެއްކާވެސް ބިޑިއެއް ރޯކޮށްލިއެވެ. ބިޑީގެ ކުނިވަހަށް އަހަރެންގެ ނޭފަތް މިހާރު ވަނީ ހޭނިފައެވެ.
އަތިރިއަށް ދެވެން އޮތް މަގުގެ އެއް ފަރާތުގައި އޮތީ ބޮޑު ރުއްފަލެކެވެ. އަނެއް ފަރާތުގައި މިރިއްސާއި މަގުލާއި އުންޏާއި މި ޒާތްޒާތުގެ ގަސްގަހާގެހިން ފުރިބާރުވެފައި އޮތް ވަލެކެވެ. ޖެހޭ މަޑުމަޑު ވައިރޯޅިއާއެކު ގަސްތަކާއި ރުއްތަކަށް ހެލިފެލިވަމުން ދިޔައިރު، އަހަރެމެން ދެ މީހުންގެ ދެމެދުން އުފަންވަމުން އައީ ދިރިއުޅުމާ ގުޅުންހުރި ވާހަކަތަކެވެ.
ވަކި ހިސާބަކަށް ދިޔަތަނާ، ވިއްސަކަށްފޫޓު ދުރުން ކަޅު ބުޅަލެއް، ގަސްތަކުގެ ތެރެއިން ނިކުމެ، މަގު ހުރަސްކޮށް، ރުއްފަލަށް ވަދެގެން އެހެރެދަނީ އަހަރެމެންގެ ކުރި ކަނޑާފައެވެ. އަހަރެންގެ ހިތުގައި ކުއްލިއަކަށް ބިރުވެރި ރާޅެއް އުފެދުނެވެ. ކުރިއަށް ފިޔަވަޅެއް އަޅަން ދަތިވިއެވެ.
“ކިހިނެއްވީ؟” އަހަންނާދިމާއަށް އަހަންމަދު ބަލައިލިއެވެ.
“ކަޅު ބުޅަލެއް ކުރިކަނޑާފައި ދިޔަ ތަނެއް ނުދެކެން؟” އަހަންނަށް މަޑުމަޑުން އަހާލެވުނެވެ.
“ބިރުގަތީ؟” އަހަންމަދު ގާތަށް އައީ ހިންޏެވެ. “އެއީ މުސްކުޅިން ދައްކާ ތާކުންތާކު ނުޖެހޭ، ބޯދާ ވާހަކަ. ހިނގާ ދާން!” އަހަރެންގެ އަތުގައި ހިފައިގެން އަހަންމަދު ހިނގައިގަތެވެ.
އަހަންމަދު ކިތަންމެ ހަމަޖެހިފައި ހުއްޓަސް، އަހަރެންގެ ހިތުގައި އުފެދުނު ބިރުވެރި ރާޅު ދިޔައީ އުފުލެމުންނެވެ. ރޭގަނޑު ކަޅު ބުޅަލެއް ކުރިކަނޑައިފިއްޔާ، އެ މަގަކުން ކުރިއަށް ނުދާން، މާމަވެސް މަންމަ ވެސް ބުނެއެވެ. އެ ބަސް ކަނޑާފައި ހިނގައްޖެ ނަމަ، ކޮންމެވެސް ކަހަލަ ނުރައްކަލަކާ ކުރިމަތިނުވެއެއް ނުދާނެއެވެ. އަހަރެންގެ ހިތް ޑަން ޑަން ލާފައި ބާރަށް ތެޅެމުން ދެއެވެ. ކުރިއަށް ދިޔަ ވަރަކަށް ހިތުގެ ތެޅުން އަވަސްވަމުން ބާރުވަމުން އާދެއެވެ. މި ފަދަ ހާލެއްގައި އަހަރެން ހުއްޓާ އަތިމައްޗާ ހަމައަށް އާދެވިއްޖެއެވެ.
“މިތާ އިށީނދެލައިގެން އިނދޭ! އަހަރެން އަންނާނަން އަތިރިއަށް ފައިބާލައިފަ.” އެތާ ހުރި ގެރިގަނޑަކަށް އިޝާރާތްކުރަމުން އަހަންމަދު ބުންޏެވެ.
އަހަރެން ގެރިގަނޑުގެ މަތީގައި އިށީނނީ، އެހެންގޮތެއް މި ވަގުތަށް ނެތީމައެވެ. އަހަރެންގެ ފުރަގަހުން އެއްފަރާތުގައި ކަޅު ހިޔަނިތަކެއްހެން ފެންނަން ހުރި އޮޑިހަރުގެތައް ހީވަނީ ބިރުވެރި ހޮހަޅަތަކެއް ހެންނެވެ. އަނެއް ފަރާތުގައި އޮތް ހޭޅީގެ ގޮފިތައް ވަޔާ ހޫރެމުން އައިސް، އަހަރެންގެ ގައިގައި ހިފައިގަންނަން އުޅޭ ކަހަލައެވެ. ދެ ފަރަތާށް ފެތުރިފައި އޮތް ގޮނޑުދޮށް ހީވަނީ ދޮންވެލީގެ މަހާނަތަކެއް ހެންނެވެ. ކުރިމަތީގައި އޮތް މާ ސިންގާ ކަނޑުން ނަގާ ރާޅުތައް، ތޮށިމައްޗަށް މުގުރައިލާއިރު، ބިރުވެރި މަޚޫލޫޤެއް ހޭރިގަންނަ ފަދައެވެ.
ގޮނޑުދޮށުގައި އިށީނދެ އިން އަހަންމަދު އަހަންނަށް ފެންނަނީ ކަޅު ބަބުރެއްގެ ސިފައިގައެވެ. އަހަރެންގެ ހިތުގެ ތެޅުމަކަށް ބަދަލެއް ނާދެއެވެ. ނާމާން ސިފައަކަށް ހުރި ހަރުގެތަކާ ދިމާއަށް ބެލެއެވެ. ޖެހެމުންދާ ވައިރޯޅިއާ ބައިވެރިވެގެން، އަހަރެން ބިރުގަންނަވަމުން ގެންދާ ހޭޅީގެ ގަސްތަކާދިމާއަށް ކަޅި އެޅެއެވެ. ކޮންމެ ދިމާއަކަށް ބަލައިލެވުނަސް ހީވަނީ އަނެއް ފަރާތުން އަރައި ކައިފާނޭހެންނެވެ.
ލިބުނު ކުއްލި ސިހުމާއެކު އަހަންނަށް ފުންމައިގެން ތެދުވެވުނެވެ. ހިތް ތެޅިގަތްވަރުން މޭ އިރާލާފައި ނިކުތްކަހަލައެވެ. ގޮނޑުދޮށުގެ އެކިދިމަދިމާއަށް ބަލަން ފެށުނެވެ. އަހަންމަދެއް ނެތެވެ. އާއެކެވެ. އޭނާއެއް ނެތެވެ. އަހަންނަށް ވީ ގޮތް ވެސް ނޭނގުނެވެ. ގޮނޑުދޮށުގެ އެކި ދިމަދިމާއަށް ކަޅި ހިންގަން ފެށުނެވެ. ހިތަށް ވެރިވެފައިވާ ބިރުވެރިކަން އިންތިހާއަށް އަރައިފިއެވެ.
